#Why Nehos in Switzerland

Switzerland concentrates more enterprise AI budget per capita than any other continental European market. Four of the world's twenty largest financial groups have their global or regional headquarters here — UBS, Swiss Re, Zurich Insurance Group, Julius Baer — and Geneva alone counts over 140 private banks. Add the pharmaceutical powerhouses in Basel (Roche, Novartis), the watchmaking maisons of the Arc lémanique (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet), commodity trading houses clustered between Geneva and Zug (Trafigura, Mercuria, Vitol), and ETH Zurich producing 35+ AI spinoffs annually, and the density of high-value digital transformation budgets becomes hard to match anywhere on the continent.

Nehos Groupe opened two Swiss hubs simultaneously in 2026 — Geneva for French-speaking Switzerland and Zurich for the German-speaking market — because they serve fundamentally different industries, regulatory expectations, and buyer cultures. A Geneva-first or Zurich-first approach would have left half the Swiss B2B market unaddressed.

#Swiss Sectors We Serve

#Private Banking and Wealth Management

Geneva is the world capital of private banking. Institutions like Pictet, Lombard Odier, Mirabaud, and Edmond de Rothschild manage trillions in assets under management and face simultaneous pressure: the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (nLPD, in force since September 2023) imposes GDPR-equivalent obligations on client data processing, while FINMA Circular 2018/3 demands operational resilience for outsourced IT services. Legacy core banking systems — often running on mainframes or outdated Java stacks — need modernisation without service interruption.

Nehos delivers AI agents that automate KYC document review, anti-money laundering screening, and portfolio reporting within FINMA-compliant infrastructure. Our legacy modernisation practice handles the migration of monolithic banking platforms to microservices architectures, with every line of code running on Swiss-resident infrastructure.

#Fintech and Digital Assets

Zurich's Crypto Valley (centred on Zug, extending through Zurich) has attracted firms like Sygnum, SEBA Bank, Bitcoin Suisse, and dozens of blockchain startups operating under FINMA banking licences granted through the DLT Act (2021). These companies need production-grade Next.js platforms for investor portals, compliance dashboards, and tokenisation interfaces that meet both FINMA requirements and institutional client expectations.

Nehos builds headless platforms on Next.js 16 with Payload CMS, deployed on Exoscale Zurich for contractual Swiss data residency. Our fintech clients benefit from built-in DORA compliance documentation, real-time audit trails, and sovereign AI inference using self-hosted Mistral models.

#Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences

Basel hosts Roche and Novartis — the two largest pharmaceutical companies in Switzerland — along with hundreds of biotech startups and medtech firms. Geneva adds Firmenich (now dsm-firmenich) and Givaudan in the flavours and fragrances sector. These organisations need AI systems that comply with both Swiss data protection law and sector-specific regulations (Swissmedic, clinical trial data handling, pharmacovigilance automation).

Our AI agents handle clinical document classification, regulatory submission preparation, and multilingual medical content generation with human-in-the-loop validation.

#Watchmaking and Luxury

The Swiss watch industry generates CHF 25 billion in annual exports and is concentrated in the Arc lémanique and Jura. Brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, Omega, and Audemars Piguet invest in direct-to-consumer digital experiences, CRM platforms, and after-sales service automation. Nehos provides Next.js e-commerce and brand platforms with performance scores in the top 1% of Core Web Vitals, multilingual content management (French, German, English, Mandarin), and GEO/AEO optimisation so that these brands are cited accurately when high-net-worth clients ask AI assistants about luxury timepieces.

#Commodities Trading

Geneva is the world's largest commodity trading hub. Trafigura, Mercuria, Vitol, Gunvor, and others manage global supply chains from lakeside offices. These firms need real-time data platforms, risk dashboards, and AI-powered market intelligence tools — built on sovereign infrastructure because the data is commercially sensitive and jurisdictionally complex.

#Swiss Regulatory Landscape

Switzerland's regulatory framework for digital services has evolved significantly since 2023.

The new Federal Act on Data Protection (nLPD), effective 1 September 2023, aligns Swiss data protection with GDPR standards. It introduces mandatory breach notification (to the FDPIC within 72 hours), data protection impact assessments for high-risk processing, and extraterritorial scope. For AI deployments, the nLPD requires transparency about automated individual decision-making and provides data subjects with the right to contest such decisions.

FINMA Circular 2018/3 on outsourcing governs how Swiss financial institutions delegate IT services to external providers. Nehos structures all Swiss financial engagements to meet FINMA's requirements: audit rights for the financial institution and FINMA, Swiss-resident data processing, business continuity plans, and contractual exit provisions.

The DLT Act (2021) provides a complete legal framework for blockchain-based financial services, including DLT trading facilities, crypto custody, and tokenised securities. For fintech clients, Nehos integrates DLT Act compliance into the platform architecture from day one.

Swiss banking secrecy (Article 47 of the Banking Act) remains in force for domestic purposes, and digital transformation projects must preserve its protections. This means no data may leave Switzerland, no US-headquartered cloud provider may access client data under CLOUD Act jurisdiction, and all AI inference must run on Swiss-resident infrastructure.

#Our Swiss Technology Stack

Data sovereignty is not optional in Switzerland — it is a legal obligation for financial institutions and a commercial expectation for every serious enterprise client. Nehos delivers on this with a fully sovereign stack.

Infrastructure: Exoscale (HQ Lausanne, datacenters in Zurich and Geneva) for production workloads — FINMA-compliant, ISO 27001 certified, contractual Swiss data residency. Infomaniak (Geneva) for backup, email infrastructure, and projects requiring strictest Swiss-only jurisdiction. OVHcloud CH for overflow and network-intensive workloads.

AI inference: Mistral Large and Mixtral 8x7B deployed as open-weights models on Exoscale GPU infrastructure. No API calls to external endpoints for sensitive workloads — the model runs inside the client's Swiss environment. Fine-tuning on proprietary Swiss-German and Swiss-French corpora available.

Application layer: Next.js 16 with App Router, Payload CMS, PostgreSQL 16, Qdrant for RAG vector search. Deployed on Managed Kubernetes (Exoscale) with CI/CD pipelines running entirely within Swiss jurisdiction.

#Why Choose Nehos for Switzerland

French and English delivery: Our team operates natively in both French (for Romandy and international Geneva) and English (for Zurich, Zug, and the international finance community). Foued Cherni (CEO) conducts Geneva meetings in French; Chokri Siala (CTO) leads Zurich engagements in English.

Toulouse HQ, Swiss hubs: 50+ experts based at our Toulouse headquarters deliver the technical work. Geneva and Zurich hubs handle client relationships, on-site workshops, and regulatory liaison. This structure gives Swiss clients access to a senior engineering team at CHF 1,060 per day — 40 to 50 percent below comparable Swiss boutique rates.

EU data sovereignty via OVHcloud: For projects that do not require strict Swiss-only jurisdiction, OVHcloud infrastructure provides EU-sovereign hosting under French and EU law — relevant for Swiss clients with European operations who need GDPR compliance alongside nLPD compliance.

Full-service AI and digital: Unlike pure consulting firms or pure dev shops, Nehos covers the entire value chain — AI strategy, AI agent development, Next.js platform engineering, legacy modernisation, and GEO/AEO visibility — so Swiss clients work with one partner from strategy through production.

FINMA compliance architecture: Every Swiss financial engagement includes FINMA Circ. 2018/3 compliance documentation as a standard deliverable: audit trail architecture, data residency attestation, outsourcing risk assessment, and exit plan.
